Nevada State Capitol

Construction began in Carson City in 1870. Completed in 1871, seven years after statehood, it was expanded and modified in the early 20th-century. The Capitol Building was constructed of locally-quarried sandstone. Its silver-colored cupola dome rises 120 feet above the ground, providing panoramic views of the capital city of Carson City.
